On November 21st 2019, Qingdao International Business Association held a successful event at German Enterprise Centre Qingdao. Dr. Ines Eben von Racknitz gave a presentation named “Germany: A benevolent colony in Qingdao?”.

Dr. Ines Eben von Racknitz currently teaches Chinese history at Nanjing University where she is an associate professor. Her expertise and passion revolve around topics like European colonial history (particularly British and German history in China), and Chinese art, religion and literature of late imperial and republican China. The presentation she brought depicted the influence of the short 16 years that Qingdao was part of what the Germans called the protectorate of Kiautschou.
